On 2 July 1979, Bank Negara Malaysia has issued a Commemorative 100 years natural rubber Planting bersempana with 100 anniversary natural rubber Cultivation in Malaysia in recognition of the key role played by natural rubber industry in the development of the national economy. Kupro-Nickel coins issued by the Mint of Bank Negara Malaysia, Shah Alam were issued in the face value of 1 and the total mintage of 500,000 pieces.
