On 9 April 1986, Bank Negara Malaysia has issued commemorative coins in honor of the 35th Annual Conference of PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association). Two types of coins issued: Silver commemorative coin-contains silver coin proof silver coin proof RM5 and RM1 and also 1 ringgit copper-nickel. Malaysia has played host to 35th annual Conference of PATA from 9 to 16 April 1986. The two types of legal tender commemorative coins (legal tender).
